Links to Fun Kid Sites (according to Malkolm)
These are all free ... If you find any sites that your kids really like, please send them along and we'll put them through the "Malkolm Test" and add them to the page.
Ages 4-8
ScoobyDoo.com — On this site of course there are games, games and more games. Are they any better than other sites games? Not really, but they are still fun. There are lot of games. My favorite kind of games on this site are the adventure games. It is totally free.
Hotwheels.com — Play games, sign up and have your own page. The games are mostly about hotwheels. There is one game my mom really likes, she says it is very addicting for people who run a business. It is called Spin City. She likes to "help" me (but then I don't get to play anymore because she helps too much).
HappyMeal.com — According to the online kid site expert, there are really neat games on this one. Malkolm at 6 years old totally dug it. He said it was for ages four and up. You can also sign up and earn awards by playing games.
Neopets.com — On this site, kids get to sign up and make your own pet. It's cool because you get to feed it and you earn Neo Point by playing games. The Neo Points are so you can buy food for your pet.
Younger Kids' Sites
- PBSKids.Org (mom's favorite — very safe, I never have to worry about inappropriate content)
- Playhouse Disney (another very good, fun one. Was Malkolm's first online game site. He spent MANY hours playing on this site. ... probably too many!!!)
- Tickle U (Cartoon network's young kids' site, really pushes the tv programs, but the games are totally cute and entertaining for little ones)
- Cartoon Network Games (some are a little mature, but malkolm likes the games)
- National Geographic Kids (better for 2nd grade and up, Malkolm gets bored with this one quickly, because there is so much reading involved. Good learning site though.)
- FunBrain
- Scholastic Kids (Malkolm enjoys these games but has trouble with moving the pieces. I think they are more suited to kids ages 7+)
- Between the Lions (this is great for kids just getting the hang of reading. The games are simple and fun.)
- Noggin.com (mostly preschool games, Malkolm used this more when he was younger)
- Shockwave.com Kids Section (this site is good for mom and kid play time. Some stuff he doesn't understand, but others are very simple.)
- Sesame Street (doesn't have a whole bunch of stuff, but great age-appropriate stuff for preschool and K)
- PlayKidsGames.com (some great educational games. It's a leap pad without a leap pad. Malkolm likes it, but some of the games are longer, so it's good for mom and kid time to help little ones focus. Can even be used as schooling help for understanding things like math and memorizing geography. )
- Ready, Set, Learn (this one is slow to load, but the games are neat, and very preschool kid friendly. I do think it's worth the wait for the stuff to load. This is Discovery Kids prechool section. Made by the same people who created the Discovery Channel.)
